Avenue Tennis Club Head Coach is Upgraded

Avenue Tennis Club Head Coach Vinny Duddy attended the LTA’s 4 day Club Coach Upgrade to further improve his tennis coaching skills and knowledge and also ensure that the Avenue Tennis Club met the LTA’s strict requirements with regard to their national Clubmark requirements.  .  James Kerry, one of the Avenue first team players and part time coach at the club also attended the course to upgrade his Development Coaching Award.  The Avenue was the 2nd club in Somerset to achieve this award last year and has been through the first annual review suceessfully.  Achieving Tennis Clubmark means the LTA endorses and supports the club’s tennis programmes, policies and procedures, action and development planning, and club management

 

The Avenue Juniors are going to participate in the Lazy Town Sport Relief sponsorship evening on Friday 19th March where they will be encouraging their mums, dads, uncles, aunties and any friends yo come down to the club and have a “FREE” coaching session.  Friday nights is normally family night with Vinny’s Minis, Junior Matchplay, Adult Coaching and Adult Social play throughout the evening. The bar is also open for those who would prefer to stay in the warm and watch.

 

The Avenue Tennis Club is offering new members the opportunity to join the tennis club and get 14 months membership for the price of 12.  The new membership deal is subject to the new member completing a direct debit mandate that would start from the 1 April 2010 and would be at 2009 membership prices as shown on their web site www.avenuetennis.com.   Details can also be obtained from new membership secretary Di Dimond (07979 227866).

 

The next junior camp will be run from 12th – 16th April; application forms will be on the web site soon or places can be booked through the club on 01278 782758.

 

Applications for position of Club Chairman and Vice Chairman are still requested, members wishing for more detail should contact current Chairman Gordon Hunter or the office for more details. 

 

The next social event at the Club will be a St Patricks Themed Evening with disco and a 3 course meal on Saturday 20th Mar- Juniors £4 and Adults £8; all are welcome to attend but please book early by completing the list in the club foyer.
