In a bid to encourage and promote playing tennis within Burnham on Sea at the Avenue Tennis Club, Head Coach Vinny Duddy and Assistant Coach Craig Phillips have arranged visits to the following schools to do a full day of Tennis taster sessions -  East Brent, Berrow, Brent Knoll, Lympsham, Beechfields, St John’s, East Huntspill, St Joseph’s, Mark and Burnham Infants.

The sessions are funded through the Somerset LTA and backed by King Alfred’s Jean Paul Hoskins and Sarah Musset,  The following schools have been visited East Brent, Berrow and Brent Knoll..

The 13^th Mar, Red Nose Day, Vinny and Craig visited Lympsham School and saw many of the children arrive with all types of red clothing and hair pieces.  The taster sessions took place on the Lympsham Village Tennis Courts which are available for hire; membership rates are very keen.  Although both courts were not available all day, using them made it easier to deliver the Taster Sessions which consisted of warm up games, ball and racket skills finishing off with a fun games on some of the sessions. 

At the end of each session the children were offered a free hours coaching voucher to be taken at the Avenue Tennis Club on either a Friday at Vinny’s Minis or at the Saturday morning pay and play sessions.

The Avenue Tennis Club will be running another Junior Tennis Camp during the Easter school holidays following the success of the last one held in February.  The camp will run on both weeks of the holiday (Mon – Thur & Tue – Fri).  Bookings for both weeks, 1 week or on a daily basis can be done through the office on 01278 782758.
