Coaches Clean Up Competition Jun 09
Tuesday, June 23, 2009 9:55Members of the Avenue Tennis Club gave up their Sunday morning in bed to give the club grounds a good spring-clean. Simon Prior allowed the members to use his gardening power tools to speed up the process and ensure that the workers were able to start their clean-up competition at 12:00pm.
Club chairman Gordon Hunter and Angela Marshfield narrowly won the competition by one point, beating Lenny Cameron and Gordon’s wife Pat. Head coach Vinny Duddy was really pleased to see Junior Academy players Josh Christison, Georgina Cameron and Vinny’s daughter Heather participate in the competition. He would like to thank all the people who turned up on the day and gave up their time to make the club spic-and-span, bearing in mind the upcoming Open Day and Centenary events to follow.
