The Avenue’s Junior Tennis Camp first week has proved to be a huge success with a large number of children turning up at the club to have tennis coaching intermingled with some fun tennis games aimed at enforcing what they have learned throughout the day.  Head coach, Vinny Duddy said that he was very pleased with the number of children who had turned up and was pleased with how things had gone through the first week with the weather and the attention and effort put in by the kids.  He said, although we try to make the sessions fun they can be quite tiring, especially for the under 8’s who have not had this much focused sport and teaching; the older kids love it – however as we have such excellent facilities at the club we can also spend a good bit of down time in the club house.

Following the success of the Camp the club will be running another week of Tennis Training and Coaching for the last week of the summer holiday from Monday 23^rd Aug to Friday 27^th Aug; details and application forms are available on the website  www.avenuetennis.com; parents are advised to book early to avoid any disappointment.

Entry forms are available from the club or the website for the two August Open Tennis Tournaments for adults (11^th Aug – 15^th Aug) and juniors (16^th – 21^st Aug).  The bar will be open during the tournaments serving hot and cold food so why not pop down and watch some good live tennis at the Avenue Tennis Club during your lunch breaks or during the day.
