Performance Plus Sports (PPS) sponsor tennis coaching lessons at the Avenue Tennis Club

The Avenue Tennis Club have partnered with Performance Plus Sport (PPS) to provide a Community Progression Programme providing 2 hours of funded tennis per week in 3 x 6 week blocks through the 2018 – 19 school year.  The goal is to support young local children and create opportunities for regular tennis at the Avenue Tennis Club, managed by Tennis Club Manager, Barry Ramsden, with the coaching provided by the Avenue’s qualified coaches on a Monday 5 till 6 and Tuesday 6 to 7.  The coaching is free of charge to the players.  Performance Plus Sport is a charity that was founded and is ran by father and son, John and James Feaver, both of whom were professional tennis players – John beating Bjorn Borg in their younger years.  Both have strong links to Avenue Tennis Club and are passionate about supporting the club and encouraging more participation in sport for young sportspeople.

During February and March Performance Plus Sports (PPS) sponsored the second of three 6 lesson FREE tennis coaching sessions for juniors with Wendy Pryce on a Monday evening and Vinny Duddy on a Tuesday evening.  These have proved to be very successful and well attended ; the club will be running a further 2 Monday and Tuesday PPS sponsored sessions as follows

  • Mondays – 17:00 till 18:00 for 7 to 10 year old’s mainly on May 13th, 20th, June 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th – please contact Wendy
  • Tuesdays – 18:00 till 19:00 for mainly 10 year old’s and over on April 16th, 23rd, 30th, May 7th, 14th and 21st – please contact Vinny
