 DURING 2010 INCREASED PRIZE MONEY IS BEING INVESTED BY THE AVENUE TENNIS CLUB AND FROM SPONSORS – HAVEN HOLIDAY VILLAGE BURNHAM ON SEA IN THE SOMERSET OPEN IN A BID TO INCREASE AND IMPROVE THE STANDARDS OF THE COMPETION as follows

     Mens Open Singles Winner £250, Runner Up £100, 3rd and 4th £25

    Ladies Open Singles Winner £150, Runner Up £75, 3rd and 4th £25

    Mens, Ladies and Mixed Doubles Winners £100 with runners up @ £50

    Increases have also been made in the Handicap and Veterans tournaments.

AS PART OF THEIR SPONSORSHIP HAVEN HOLIDAY VILLAGE ARE OFFERING A 10% REDUCTION ON ALL BOOKINGS FOR COMPETITORS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

Burnham Open from all over the country and even beyond. The Open is a very popular tournament and over the years has been graced by many rising stars of their era including Andrew Castle, Jo Durie and John Feaver. There is always a special atmosphere during the tournament and the club provides excellent hospitality to ensure that all competitors enjoy their time here. From 12 noon each day, the bar will be open and we also have excellent snacks on offer for competitors and spectators. For added convenience we now run all Handicap Doubles events in the evenings from 6pm Wednesday to Friday to allow players with daytime commitments to take part.

THE SOMERSET CLOSED EVENT SPONSORED BY TONY PRYCE SPORTS WILL NOW BE RUN AS A SEPARATE EVENT OVER TWO WEEKEND (5TH & 6TH JUN AND 26TH AND 27TH JUN WITH THE LADIES AND MENS FINALS SCHEDULED TO BE PLAYED ON SUNDAY 4TH JULY BEFORE THE WIMBLEDONE MENS FINALS AND DURING THE AVENUE TENNIS CLUBS OPEN DAY.

Playing Timetable

Play is scheduled to start from 9am each day and all Open Men’s SINGLES competitors must be available during the day time on the opening day – Wednesday 11th August 2010

ALL competitors must be available to play events from Wednesday 11th through to the finals day on Sunday 16th August

ALL Handicap Doubles events will start from 6pm Wednesday to Friday with semi finals and finals during the daytime on Saturday and Sunday

ALL Handicap Singles events will run during the daytime.
